THE FASHION FILM GENRE
The fashion film genre is ever evolving, with the medium increasingly influencing and transforming the landscape in which fashion is experienced.
As designers welcome the art form of fashion film, fantasy aesthetic is brought to life. Through stylised video content, brands express their personality- our senses are tantalized by the elegant couture of No. 5 Chanel’s Le Film or the gritty, quirky nature of Alexander Wang’s ‘Undisclosed Location’ satirical content.
Fashion is universal – the spontaneity and innovation behind fashion films inspire our own everyday style and self-expression. These films can be self-deprecating, immersive and engage with cultural issues. By being offered multifaceted aspects of human interaction within this unique cinematic world, we are invited to redefine what fashion means to us.
